Further Adventures Into The World Of Fedora Linux

Last week I continued adding to the Fedora Linux library of articles that I have been generating throughout March.

The first article in this newsletter shows you how to dual boot Windows 8.1 and Fedora Linux. I had already written an guide showing how to install Fedora but that only worked on non-UEFI based computers.

The second article in this newsletter shows you how to install Google's Chrome browser, Open JDK (Java) and Oracle (Java). It also shows how to install Skype, Dropbox and Minecraft. These are 5 modern essentials.

For those of you that have missed previous newsletters there is a guide containing keyboard shortcuts for the GNOME desktop, a Fedora installation guide and a guide showing how to install Steam, Flash and MP3 codecs within Fedora.

This week I am going to be providing a full review of the Rhythmbox music player and the Evolution mail client.

By the time this series is over I am hoping that you have a good understanding of Fedora Linux from the average user's point of view.

How To Dual Boot Windows 8.1 And Fedora
This guide shows how to dual boot Windows 8.1 and Fedora Linux. The process links to other guides which show how to backup Windows, create a USB drive and shrink your Windows partition. The main part of the article shows the full dual boot installation steps. Rather surprisingly I found the process easier than dual booting Ubuntu and Windows 8.1.
